Chando's Tacos, the beloved taco-stand-cum-foodie destination, is adding a second location on Power Inn, near the original Squeeze Inn location.
To celebrate their grand opening, they'll be featuring $1 beer, $1 tacos, free soda and there will be a raffle where iPods and a 50 guest catering via their new food truck. They'll also have a bounce house to entertain the kids while you down your $1 beer. The party starts at 12 noon and ends at 5 p.m.
Music will be provided Chando's band - Authenticos de Sacramento - as well as HLM and DJ Latino.

California's foie gras ban draws legal challenge - North America's largest producers of foie gras have joined with a Southern California restaurateur to challenge the state's ban on the duck-liver delicacy. The first-of-its-kind ban went into effect July 1, and the producers and Hot's Restaurant Group Inc. promptly filed suit Monday in federal court, asking a judge for an injunction against the new law. They argue that the measure, which forbids the in-state sale and production of products derived from force-fed birds, is too vague. Michael J. Mishak in the LA Times.
Sacramento celebrities to dig in to Big Beef Rib at fair eating contest - Five Sacramento media celebrities kick off the opening of the California State Fair with a competitive eating contest of this season’s talk of the fair circuit — the Big Beef Rib. Luckily for the media celebrities, it will be a timed contest, so they likely won’t have time to finish all two pounds of steak mounted on a 17-inch rib bone.
