I really enjoy a good night of friends, beer and bar trivia. While reasonable minds may differ on whether Googling the answer on your iPhone or Blackberry is cheating or not, there's no way you can deny that these nights lead to great fun.
Here are bar trivia nights, organized by day. Most of these bars have prizes for the winner like a free round of drinks or free shirts, but really, winning the prize isn't as important as having a great time while hanging with your closest buds.
Bonn Lair (36th and J) - 8:30 p.m.
Streets of London (18th and J) - 9 p.m.
de Vere's Irish Pub (15th and L) - 7 p.m.
Bella Bru (Natomas) - 7 p.m.
Brew it Up (14th and H) - Registration at 7:30 p.m., quiz at 8 p.m.
Clubhouse 56 (East Sac) - 5 p.m.
Giovanni's Natomas (on Del Paso next to Safeway) - 7 p.m.
Fox and Goose (R and 10) - 7 p.m.
Hoppy Brewing Company - 10 p.m.
The Shack (5201 Folsom Blvd.) - 6:30 p.m.
The Depot (20th and K) - 9 p.m.
Hooters (Natomas) - 7 p.m.
Tokyo Fro's (Fair Oaks) - 9:30 p.m.
If you're looking for one on Friday or Saturday nights, good luck. Bars make too much money on those nights to host trivia nights.
