** Updated: Seven bars in Sacramento to watch the World Cup at with your fellow soccer hooligans.
This morning marked the first game of the World Cup, the worldwide soccer tournament that has every country except for America in a frenzy.
However, even if you only know David Beckham as the spouse of Posh Spice, that doesn't mean that watching the most skilled athletes competing for the ultimate prize in their sport isn't still compelling. Or maybe you just want an excuse to start drinking at 7 a.m.
Here are three suggestions where you can yell, scream and cheer for your favorite nation during the World Cup. All of these bars will be open early every morning, have been confirmed to be showing the games and will feature the requisite number of soccer hooligans.
- Streets of London (locations in midtown, West Sac, Folsom)
- de Vere's Irish Pub (Firestone building)
- The Corner Restaurant & Bar (57th and J)
There are also other bars that are showing games for their favorite countries. Hot Italian will be showing Italy on their flat screens and Zocalo is the hot spot for games featuring Mexico.
