It looks like Old Sac restaurant and bar Brickside is the latest victim of the poor economy.

Acting on a tip from one of Cowtown Eat's loyal readers, I drove by last week during the lunch hour to find the restaurant closed, possibly permanently.

On the door was a posting saying that their alcohol license had been suspended at the request of the Board of Equalization. See the info on their alcohol license here.

I made some calls, did some research and found out that the BOE can suspend a liquor license "if a taxpayer is three or more months delinquent in the payment of taxes or penalties."

It's too bad we lost them. I loved their space and decor.
