Daily Dining News: New Taqueria in Midtown

If there's one thing no city can have too many of, it's taquerias. They provide tasty foods at great prices, and best of all, many are open to serve the late night crowd. Sacramento's ranks of taquerias just expanded with the opening of Jaliso Fresh at 19th and S.
A pair of Roseville taquerias called Jalisco Fresh Mexican Grill have become so popular that their owner has opened another in Midtown Sacramento.
Fans were driving from as far away as the foothill towns of Nevada City, El Dorado Hills and Auburn to get to the family-owned restaurants in Roseville. Some pleaded with owner Ramon Arias to launch his next taqueria in Auburn so they wouldn't have to travel so far for the tacos, burritos and fajitas.

A Visit to Bangkok@12 - I finally had a chance to stop by Bangkok@12, the restaurant which replaced long-time Sacramento foodie favorite Amarin Thai Cuisine. The place has been spruced up with new flooring and a bright new coat of paint, but the menu looks much the same (and is still mind-bogglingly lengthy) - and the staff was warm and welcoming. What calorie postings mean to consumers - While drastic changes to customers’ ordering and eating habits are not expected, NPD research found that consumers may look to avoid French fries, larger hamburgers and shakes, for example. Check averages may drop very slightly as well. Still, the number of items ordered and the amount of calories per meal are not expected to change dramatically when calories are listed.
