Dining News - Why I Think The Eatery Chef Ends Up at West Sac's Vierra Farms
May 21, 2014
First, let me say none of this is confirmed. But based on connecting a couple dots, I think that Jesse Milbourn, former co-owner and chef at The Eatery in West Sac, will end up at Vierra Farms, which may be better known as Dave's Pumpkin Patch. (Flashback - The Eatery closed in April.)
First, here's a picture from his twitter feed @JessMilbournJr from May 5.

Then, on Tuesday, The Eatery's old twitter feed @EateryWestSac tweeted:
Coming soon... @farmhouse_ws

They've also opened a Facebook Page.
So I went back to look at the original picture. It looked familiar to me. When I wrote about Vierra Farms andJerad Nuttal's stint there, I got a tour of their farmhouse/restaurant/wedding & party venue. But that was almost a year ago, and I didn't remember the little details.
Luckily, Vierra Farms also does weddings and has pictures of that room online. Here are three pictures of that room from their Web site, VierraFarms.com.
If you notice, the grain on the table, the types of chairs, the wainscotting on the walls, the brick pattern on the floors and the burlap on the table are all the same. I've reached out to Milbourn for a confirmation, but he hasn't returned a Twitter Direct Message sent Wednesday evening.
I hope this is true. I'm a fan of Vierra Farms, their black watermelons and The Eatery. I hope they do form a partnership to make more of that space.
I'll keep you updated if/when I hear more.

French fry war comes to Greater Sacramento - McDonald’s is preparing to launch Shakin’ Flavor Fries, a line of seasoned fries in three flavors, with Sacramento as one of two test markets in the country. The fries went on sale locally May 9, and will likely remain in the region through the summer. St. Louis is the only other city to get early dibs on tasting these fries, which could become a permanent item next to the Big Mac and McFlurry on McDonald’s menus once the test marketing is complete. Best of Folsom & El Dorado Hills: Best use of the color purple; The Purple Place Bar & Grill went from run-down biker bar to popular neighborhood destination - You really can’t miss The Purple Place Bar & Grill. For starters, its wide-set facade is literally purple. And “El Dorado Hill’s original roadhouse,” as it’s billed, has loomed large on Green Valley Road since 1955. But that doesn’t mean it was always a hit with the locals. “The Purple Place is historic, and everyone knows about it some way or another, but it really was a run-down biker bar when we took it over,” says co-owner Denise Hountalas, who purchased the establishment seven years ago with husband Mike.
