Dining News: Izakaya Daikoku to Replace Sweetwater Grill

While we've known that the owners of Land Park's Akebono and RyuJin Ramen House (19th & S) were set to replace Sweetwater Grill, also at 19th & S, they've now revealed their name - Izakaya Daikoku.

Per this Web advertisement, this is the first time that I recall seeing a description of their restaurant:

Situated in the heart of downtown, IZAKAYA DAIKOKU is a brand New Japanese Pub and Restaurant in Sacramento, CA. featuring Sushi, Teriyaki, authentic Japanese food, beverages and more! Drop by for Eastern flavors which will bring you back again and again.

My guess is that was written by a contractor and not the chef/owner, so I'll forgive the reference to "Eastern flavors. On the other hand, I am looking forward to the Japanese pub element of the place.

From the looks of it about a week ago, they still had a lot of work to do. My guess is that they have weeks of work left.

When it opens, Izakaya Daikoku will be located at 1831 S Street, and can be found online at http://www.izakayadaikoku.com/.

H/T to the Sac Bee's Chris Macias, which is the first place I saw the restaurant's name reported, via Twitter.
