Dining News: Pieology to Replace Monsoon
July 31, 2014
Monsoon, the recently shuttered restaurant at 16th & K, will be replaced by Pieology, reports Ben van der Meer in the Sac Biz Journal. On its Web site, Pieology says it prides itself by "providing the best tasting, healthiest kustom pizza in the world. Using only the freshest ingredients, Pieology provides smoking hot pizzas in under 5 minutes."
Here's more from the Biz Journal:
The entry by Pieology, which has a Chipotle-like approach to pizzas, would be the first in the Sacramento region, but building owner Mark Friedman said it’s a good fit.
“I think it’s a fantastic concept,” Friedman said, noting Pieology is part of a wave of “fast-pizza” concepts expanding in the region and elsewhere.
A note on the door this week at the former Monsoon said the restaurant was moving to a new location on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville, making it the third restaurant in that space that didn’t make it. But Friedman said he’d point out the previous two, 33 Bistro Downtown and Spin Burger, had the same owners.

van der Meer also reports that Bulls, which also recently closed, was sold to "someone affiliated with Simon's" restaurant on 16th.
