Dining News: Local Chefs & Restaurants Take ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

My Facebook feed has been full of friends taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - and now some of Sacramento's restaurants and chefs are taking it too.

Piatti's chef Lance Carlini and his staff took the challenge, posted the video on Friday, Aug. 22 and challenged all other Sacramento-area chefs to participate and donate.

On Saturday, Kupros Chef Martin Hutton took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (although it's not clear that he was accepting Piatti's challenge).

He challenged Capital Dime chef Cory Lazaldi (who appears to have replaced Stan Moore), among others.

If I see others, I'll be sure to pass them along.

Speaking of Chef Hutton at Kupros, Andrea Thompson of the Sac Biz Journal wrote an interesting profile of where he's been and what he's trying to do with the cuisine at Kupros.

Kupros chef focuses on affordable, accessible food - Chef Marty Hutton remembers when he first moved to Sacramento from England, and walked past Kupros Craft House on 21st Street in midtown. He was struck by the beauty of the craftsman-style building. Two years later, he is the newest chef of the restaurant. Andrea Thompson in Sac Biz Journal.
