Dining News: Finally - Bacon & Butter to Open on Saturday
September 21, 2014
Our long regional nightmare is about to come to an end. Beloved brunch (and now dinner) spot Bacon & Butter will reopen on Saturday, Sept. 27 in its new Tahoe Park location, reports Sactown Mag.
I stopped by on Sept. 10 to check out where they were in their construction process. As of 11 or 12 days ago, they were putting in flooring. It looked like a lot of the finish work to turn a room into a restaurant had yet to take place.
When I asked the construction crew there when the restaurant would open, they told me that it would be a "couple weeks."
Bacon & Butter closed its midtown location in mid-May. At that time, they said they would open the new location by Father's day. Then, they thought it might be in July, early August, late August, mid-September.
Per the Sac Bee, the restaurant's opening was delayed due to permitting issues, unexpected construction needs and a health issue with the architect.
Given the talent of chef & owner Billy Zoellin, I think it'll be worth the wait. I'm excited to give the new place a try, starting on Saturday.
Bacon & Butter will be located at 5913 Broadway, and can be found online at http://baconandbuttersac.com/.

Sammy's bar and grill is open again in Roseville — with some changes - The Sammy Hagar-themed restaurant in downtown Roseville is open again. But it's not the same place that closed abruptly last November. For one, the name is now Sammy’s Island Bar & Grill — not Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar & Grill. And Hagar is likely to be a much more frequent visitor, said Stan Novack, who oversees several restaurants bearing the rocker’s name. Ben van der Meer in Sac Biz Journal.
