Last year, the Fat Family's Frank Fats restaurant was named an America's Classic by the James Beard Foundation for its timeless appeal. Like a phoenix, Blackbird rose from its ashes and reopened with a tweaked concept in February 2014. While it got off to a rocky start, the reviews have generally gotten better over the months. If you haven't checked them out recently, at least give their happy hour a try. 1009 9th St., Sacramento.
