Buy One, Get One Free at Chipotle (Sort Of) on Monday, Jan. 26
January 12, 2015
Chipotle launched their surprisingly-tasty Sofritas in April 2013 in Sacramento, and now they're asking you to give them a try.
For those who aren't familiar with Sofritas, they are made of non-genetically modified tofu made in Oakland. The tofu is shredded and braised with chipotle chilis, roasted poblanos and a proprietary blend of spices. The word itself was invented by the marketing team at Chipotle, but a play on the Spanish word "sofrito" loosely translated as "a culinary combination of aromatic ingredients which have been cut in very small pieces"
I've tried it at a media preview and liked the complexity of the flavor. It hasn't become a go-to for me, but it's a great option to have available.
Now, onto the offer: Customers who order Sofritas on their taco, burrito or bowl on January 26 can redeem their receipt for a free entrée item upon a return visit between January 27 and February 28
