Dining News: Now Open - Coin-Op Game Room, Replacing Marilyn's On K


Coin-Op Game Room opened this past weekend, it announced in its Facebook Page.

The old Marilyn’s stage is gone. As is the bar; it’s now moved to the middle of the room, in the round (a smart move). Looks like they’ve got about 16-20 beer handles, and a list of drinks, which includes those big ol’ punch bowls and house-made Fireball-style whisky shots. Kitchen looked to be small bites, pizza and by-the-slice.

Game prices are the same as they were 20 years ago. And they have quarter machines, so no need to BYO.

This places should be a popular destination spot. It’s got this “BarWest in a basement with old arcades” thing going on, but it also has this “industrial minimalist hipster Chuck E Cheese” thing, too.

A food menu features "small bites" ranging from meatballs to roasted broccoli, as well as some salads. But the main focus is pizza, and the venue uses pizza dough made by nearby business Estelle's Patisserie.

Pepperoni, veggie and cheese pizzas are available by the slice. If you want a full pie, you can choose from a wider selection, including pesto and "carnivore" varieties.

First-ever West Coast Invitational will bring breweries and beer lovers together - Come on, Sacramento, get hoppy: On Saturday, May 16, Miller Park in Upper Land Park will host the first-ever West Coast Invitational: A Craft Brewing Experience festival. Fifty breweries will be on hand offering tastes of their beer, including local favorites like Jackrabbit, Oak Park Brewing, Track 7 and newcomer Sactown Union, whose taproom will open soon in East Sacramento. “We are definitely at a golden age of brewing in Sacramento,” says event coordinator Matson Breakey.
