Dining News: Malt & Mash Coming to 7th & K

Malt & Mash, by prolific Sacramento nightclub owner Bob Johnson, is coming to 715 K Street, according to a sign posted outside their door.

715 K Street most recently housed Plaza Cafe Hookah Lounge which appears to have closed several months ago.

According to their liquor license, Malt & Mash is owned by Matchbox K LLC, which the Secretary of State's records lead to a Bob Simpson of Rocklin, CA.

Simpson, per a 2003 Sac Biz Journal article, has owned Sacramento nightclubs Aqua, 815 L, Sidelines and Tropicana. He is also a partner in Vanguard at 14th & L, Social Nightclub at 10th & K, Republic and Pour House.
