PizzaRev, short for Pizza Revolution, is offering free pizza from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at its first Sacramento location at 58th & Folsom in East Sac.
I was invited to their friends and family preview night on Tuesday, and while there's nothing revolutionary about them, they are a solid execution of the fast pizza concept. If you've been to Pieology or Blaze Pizza, you'll feel right at home with the Chipotle-style pizza joint, where they deliver a very thin crust pizza in about 3 minutes.
PizzaRev has a couple things that differentiate itself from the competition:
- Organic tomato sauce, and organic ingredients when possible.
- A hot sauce bar for your thin pizza. (I asked if this was a thing elsewhere, and they said it was unique to their 40+ store chain.)
- A Freestyle Coke soda machine, which lets you create your own Coke fountain drink.
To me, the deciding factor between the Fast Casual Pizza places is really location. They're all reasonably good, but I wouldn't drive past one to get to another chain - especially for lunch during the work week.
PizzaRev is located at 5801 Folsom Blvd., across the street from Corti Bros. They expect to open at least 5 stores in the region. I'd suggest you at least give them a try - especially when they're giving away free pizzas.
