From- the Service Industry - Since this is the first time in about 10 years that I have not worked in the hotel, catering or restaurant industry during the holidays it’s about time that I let you in on a little secret. Review: Eatuscany Caffe - The undeniable star of Eatuscany’s culinary show is the gelato made by hand by Stefania, who learned the craft from one of Italy’s premier gelato makers. The customer favorite is the Ferrero Rocher, which is studded with morsels of the famous chocolate-and-hazelnut confections. But my heart sang an aria for the eponymous Eatuscany flavor, a subtly sweet ricotta-based gelato dotted with dried figs from Franco’s own tree. Catherine Warmerdam in Sac Mag.

Bad news is the eats don't live up to the irreverent charm of a Filipino coffeehouse. Nick Miller in Sac News & Review.

Traveling taqueria gets permanent home - A traveling taqueria has finalized plans for its first brick-and-mortar location in the region. Nixtaco expects to open a store at 1805 Cirby Way in Roseville in the first quarter of 2016, according to owner Patricio Wise. Located at the corner of Cirby Way and Rocky Ridge Drive, the location will cover 1,700 square feet plus patio space. Sonya Sorich in Sac Biz Journal.
